STAY AWAY FROM BUTTERSCOTCH PICTURES (AND BOOTHBERRY)

This was previously posted as his Facebook review (his one and only review btw). He has since disabled all reviews on both Butterscotch Pictures and Boothberry. I am posting this so that he doesn't ruin your big day as he did mine.

"Worked with Ben for my wedding, here's my experience with him:
Ben and his assistant were 45 minutes late on the actual day. No apology given, and Ben even tried to insist that the timing communicated was incorrect, despite written proof on email. Because he was late, we had to wait in the car park till he arrived, so he could film our arrival. As a result, we couldn't have photos taken around the venue with a different photographer as was our original intention.
More than a month after our wedding, Ben did not reply emails or smses. We had already informed Ben that we would be relocating from Singapore at the end of July, but no attempt was made to communicate or reply our multiple queries. Finally, a few hours before I was to arrive at the airport, I managed to pick up the video edits, from Hougang Mall (I live in the West).

The edits are amateurish at best. Clips haphazardly thrown together with personal conversations captured, not all of which were suitable for a video edit. One of those conversations included a discussion between my mother in law and a friend over why someone didn't turn up. Now each time I watch the video, I'd remember that that guest didn't come for my wedding.

Now that I finished watching everything, some parts the speech and image didn't sync. This genius asked for music from us, but proceeded to put the background music during the parts where there were performances at our wedding (so we now get a background song playing AND the song our friends were singing). Wow.

The replies are prompt before they work. But you can expect the most unprofessional and the poorest of quality. I can only take comfort in the fact that I took only a basic video package. This guy seriously sucks at his job. He obviously doesn't care, and the quality is worse than a Primary 5 kid on the job.

If you have an important event, I would suggest not getting Ben Lim. I have already dropped an email to Ben about the problems we found with his work. Going by his habit of ignoring every email, I wouldn't be overly optimistic.

Update:
He replied to say that the video wasn't mis-synced and it was my computer. After a few emails, he corrected the mis-sync, and tried to fix all the amateurish problems round on the videos. Subsequently, I requested for all the videos in 1 folder, as numerous working versions were sent back and forth, which made it hard to track which video was eventually the final version, but Ben goes MIA again. It has been 4 months since our wedding. Stay clear of this, and his sister company Boothberry. Ben never replied that and subsequent emails"
